It’s March and almost every log home restoration and repair specialist from Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan was present today at Perma-Chink System’s Conference held at the Inn on Lake Superior in Duluth. For two days, this conference covered recommended application, best business practices, and hands on demonstrations to sharpen our technical skills. Even after being in the restoration business for most of three decades, I was able to glean little pointers on how future installation should evolve. I feel this education is essential for a quality-minded company moving forward.
This time of year, everyone in the log home restoration and building industry is gearing up for a great season. The energy can almost be felt in the air at these conferences with new products and strategy being proposed by product suppliers and sales folks like Terry Anderson, territory sales manager for the Midwest Region. Terry was informative about his product line – providing examples of how to work best with materials in different situations. This kind of expertise goes a long way when it comes to working with log home owners and answering questions they have concerning their home. There is full collaboration that happens when applicators, log home restoration specialists, log home builders and suppliers come together. The outcome every time will be a better-served home owner.
One learning outcome that I received from this conference is that not all log home restoration businesses are created equal when approaching projects. I was reminded several times on how far our company has come over the years and also how we can still learn things to better service log home owners. Edmunds and Company’s attention to detail and customer service definitely stood out again and again as I listened to stories over the two days. We are poised to continue to provide professional services to our customers with suppliers like Perma-Chink as our partners. Its about time to get back to work restoring and repairing log homes and cabins all over the Midwest, and this is exciting to us. We look forward to another successful year.
