This story perfectly exemplifies why we’re called the ‘log home problem solvers’ in Minnesota. A former client called to report that a “beam was pulling away” from the wall of his home.
It turns out the snow load on the old roof (built in the 1920s) had been too much for the structure and the walls pushed out slightly as a result of the excess weight. The collar tie has pulled away from the wall by about 1.5 inches.
After inspecting the project, we determined that we needed to fashion a piece of hardware to “pull” the walls and the beam back together. With the help of our creative welder, we came up with a design to bracket the walls and the beam back together.
A project like this really exemplifies what we do and why we’re called the ‘log home problem solvers’. We tackle problems – real problems – that no one else wants or knows how to deal with. We put our heads together with other professionals and together we come up with creative solutions for our customers.
