We’re deep into summer now and shrubs and flowers are hopefully flourishing. That’s a good thing except if they are too close to your log wall.
A basic rule of thumb is to keep vegetation at least two feet away from your logs. This protects the logs against having moisture held up against them. It also protects them from water splashing off the shrubs or trees, back onto the logs.
Wood piles are another thing to keep away from your logs.
