BLASTING LOG HOME NEAR GREEN BAY, WI

This home, built in the 1980s, suffered from years of neglect. The stain had not been re-applied in over six years. It was faded, peeling and dark in many areas.

The new owners, the Paniagua family  wanted to get the building back in shape.  They knew that in order to bring back the character of the wood, blasting was would be necessary. They hired Edmunds & Company and were confident in our ability to bring back the beauty in their home.

THIS WAS A “WHOLE HOUSE PROJECT” MEANING IT REQUIRED SEVERAL RESTORATION SERVICES.

On this house, the log walls were sandblasted. Following the blasting, PeneTreat, a borate treatment, was applied to the logs as a deterrent for future rot. About 125 linear feet of rotten logs were replaced, then stained and chinked.

Chinking is not always necessary or desired. In this case, the logs were hand-scribed, but they were scribed rather crudely. This “rough” scribing made for some rather large gaps between the logs. In order to keep the weather and insects out, chinking was recommended between the logs.

This is what the customer had to say once the project was complete:

Thank you for the wonderful work you did on our home. We could not be more pleased with the results. Thank you so much!
